Please join us for the inaugural AMMPI Scholar in Residence (SiR) program on November 6 – 10, 2017 at UNT’s Discovery Park. Dr. George (Rusty) Gray III will be our first SiR. At present, Dr. Gray is a Laboratory Fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), but has been with LANL since 1985 in as a Team Leader and Technical Staff Member. He did his undergraduate and master’s work at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Metallurgical Engineering and received his PhD at Carnegie-Mellon University in the same area. After completing a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Technical University Hamburg-Harburg in Germany he joined LANL. His research interests include high-strain rate structure/property behavior of materials and modeling, shockwave effects on material structure/property behavior and deformation twinning.
